Digital 2D Foundations Artwork

I will share art pieces I made in Digitial 2D Foundations here.

Photoshop Project: Shells

RGB: An RGB file was originally created to play with the additive properties of red, green, and blue colors for printed pictures. (1st Photo)

CMYK: Afterwards, the file was converted to the CMYK color scale to represent how projected pictures are designed. More outlines of shells became apparent. (2nd Photo)

Illustrator Project: Fossils

Maps in the shapes of fossils were created on Illustrator and lasercut in the BDW. Symbols on the maps were inspired by organelles. The mitochondria represent valleys, ribosomes represent mountain ranges, and golgi apparatus represent small ponds. Lines also represent rivers.

Different colors on the Illustrator file give the lasercutter different instructions.

Afterwards, the designs were printed and cut on 1/4 inch baltic birch plywood.

Indesign Project: Cat Zine

Cat jokes were sourced from different parts of the internet and compiled into a small zine. Images were generated with AI using Adobe Firefly. Afterwards, the pictures and text were arranged on Indesign and printed onto one sheet of paper. A slit was made in the middle and the paper was folded into a small zine.

Final Project: Children's Anatomy Book

Last summer, I volunteered with middle school students teaching them how different organs look like and function. As a fun hands-on activity, we built clay models that resembled each organ. I decided to make a small booklet including the digestive system models from the mouth and esophagus to the intestines and anus. There are cutouts in the pages, so more and more parts of the digestive system are revealed as the reader flips through the book.
